“I love it when a plan comes together”

I’ve wanted to do something in Scotland since first becoming involved with The Jaskomal Foundation, Delete Blood Cancer and Gaurav Bains’ campaign in autumn of last year.

Having made contact with the wonderful Manjinder Shergill, East Dunbartonshire Councillor, who opened the doors to the Glasgow Gurdwara for our bone marrow donor registration event, we had the idea of a Burns Supper with a twist, and so Glasgow’s First Tartan & Turbans Burns Supper was born!

We went ‘live’ at the start of the Festive season and already, two tables of ten have been sold, as well as a few single tickets.  Manjinder and I will of course also be taking tables, so hurry to book yours before it is too late!

We can promise exciting and different entertainment, involving both traditional Scottish and Punjabi musicians, as well as a fashion show, auction and raffle.

In deference to our Sikh guests, the menu will include the traditonal Burns Supper offerings of Scotch broth (vegetarian) with a hint of Indian spice, haggis (‘ordinary’ and vegetarian) with neeps and tatties and of course the delicious cranachan, with or without whisky sauce!

Alcohol is not included in the ticket price, but a cash bar is available for those who enjoy a wee dram or a glass of wine.   A table of ten is £250.00 while a single ticket is £30.00.

Psychomoda, a fabulous shop in Edinburgh which designs quite unique tartan and velvet frocks and delightfully glamourous evening dresses will provide the fashion for our fashion show:

and the lovely Priya Walia Creative is our official photographer and creative stylist for the evening.
